Cannoli originate from the Palermo and Messina regions of Sicily and were historically prepared as a treat during Carnevale season,
possibly as a fertility symbol; one legend assigns their origin to the harem of the town of Caltanissetta. The dessert eventually
became a year-round staple throughout Italy.
Cannolis are traditionally filled with sheep's ricotta although many variations are found around the world. This delicacy is best
enjoyed straight after being filled and Casa Cannoli are known for making the freshest available.
